Today is my last day at CU. I'm super excited to start my new job on Monday! I may not have officially announced where I'm going, and since I passed the background check and filled out the HR paperwork, I'll be a senior accountant at Vail Resorts headquarters. It's half the distance from my work, AND I'm keeping my chiropractor and other doctors in Boulder. The others are my dermatologist and eye doctor. Since I see them once a year, I've decided to keep them too. I'll figure out a schedule to see my chiropractor, and right now I think a lunch break appointment will be good.
This past week was super busy since I needed to wrap up some supervisor stuff, and train people to take over my tasks. I want these to be transitioned without many hiccups. I am a little nervous about starting a new job, and it's fun to look forward to as well. I hope my new coworkers like Halloween, because once I know my working space, I'm bringing in decorations, including the bats I posted on Monday.
Other exciting stuff this week:
runDisney released the medal designs for Marathon Weekend, which means the next round is Princess. The downside is they didn't release the medals until close to Christmas last year. I have to wait that long?? The fun part of this release is Oswald is on the 5k medal. My inner Disney nerd was freaking out.
The other news is I bought new running shoes. During my Tuesday run, I felt my current shoes were lacking some padding. Now the question is do I wear the new ones to my race? I'm using them for my runs now, and I'll make the decision before race day. The guy at the store said NB is very consistent from model to model, which I like. The 860s are part of their core collection, and the only change this year is to the upper lacing area.
I saw my chiropractor this week, which was much needed. Just like Alaska, I went 3 weeks between appointments. She said things were looking good and did some minor adjustments. Now it's only 9 days until my race!
And I bought Run Fast. Cook Fast. Eat Slow. last week, and it was delivered Wednesday afternoon. There are some recipes from the last book, with variations, and most are new. It's always fun to get new recipes to test out, and I'm already planning to try a couple this weekend.
