Viewing the Boston Marathon

Did everyone have a chance to watch the Boston Marathon?  I found out I could go back after the elites were done and watch the section I missed due to my meeting.  Which lasted all of 21 minutes, btw.  My left screen looked like this most of the morning, and then after lunch when I was catching up.

I also came across this meme on FB, shared from Girls Run the 901.

No kidding.  Shock of shocks, I didn't need bad commentary, and I didn't need multiple commercials of bad beer and Viagra and/or Cialis.  Take that Super Bowl!  Luckily the live stream didn't have commercials.

Marathon Monday is the one day I miss Boston, but thankfully I can still watch the race :-)

Tuesdays on the Run with AprilPatty, and Erika.

  1. You know, I've never watched Marathon Monday. My workplace isn't really amenable to watching or streaming any sorts of entertainment during work hours. I did sneak some updates on my phone from Twitter!

    1. I did that during my meeting. I could make it look like I was checking email instead of Twitter for updates.

  2. I never get a chance to watch the marathon because I am always working. And of course these planes don't have cable. One of these yrs I will get too. I agree it would be better than watching any playoff games.

    1. It did help my morning go by quickly. I've watched the marathon this way the past 3 years, since I got dual monitors. I'm still working.

  4. I LOVED the fact there were no commercials. I watched (or listened) to the women and men elites from beginning to end. Let me say I despise tampon ads too! I was videoing my new granddaughter the other day and you can hear that in the background. Ugh.

    1. I love watching soccer because they go the whole half without commercials. I loved the live stream sans commercials because I didn't miss anything.

    1. I look forward to it every year. It's the one day I miss Boston but at least I can still follow along, and then read blog recaps.

  6. I love watching the live stream. My husband was eating lunch and I was giving him a play by play. He was not impressed LOL.

    1. I was emailing my mom updates as they were happening. We used to live in Wellesley, so that's my cue to say the elites are running through there.
