Monday Musings 3/9

Weekend update with Running N Reading.

Did y'all remember to spring your clocks forward?  I'm always caught off guard with how early DST comes in the spring now.  On the other hand, I felt very much awake at 7:30 yesterday morning, even though it was 6:30 to me.  I traveled back home on Saturday after my conference, and I'm hoping I can get back on my normal workout schedule.  I wanted to run outside in Florida but the humidity was rough.  We don't have that humidity yet in Dallas, but it'll be here in a few months.

Before heading to the conference, I stopped at Target to buy Outlander.  Any other fans here?  I figured since I had to bring my work laptop, I could pass the time in the airport, plane, and evenings in the hotel but watching the episodes.  I don't have Starz so I'd only seen the first episode when Starz had a free preview.  If I don't opt to get Starz this spring, I'll have to pass the time with reading more of the books.

  1. I LOVE Outlander!! I downloaded the first book (audio book) last spring and I have been listening to it on my long runs. I downloaded the show for my treadmill runs this winter and I am counting down the days until the new episodes come out!!

    1. I really need to decide whether to order Starz because now that I have the first episodes, I don't know if I can wait until volume 2 is on DVD.

  2. Oh, my gosh; I've yet to get into Outlander so I'll have to live vicariously through you, Lesley! Hard to believe we'll be dealing with the heat and humidity before too long, given what we've had to get through lately. I hope things went well at your conference; I'm sure you're glad to return home. Thanks so much for linking up with the blog today; hope your Monday is off to a great start!

    1. Things were great this winter until these past two weeks. I find I don't mind the heat so much, I can't stand the cold.

    1. When I was asked if I wanted to go, I knew it'd be work, but it's Disney! I figured why not.

  4. It's crazy how hot and humid Florida gets at the time of year while it is still so cold in the northeast! I love Orlanda, that sounds like a great place to go for work!

    1. I certainly didn't have time to warm up to the humidity, so I hit the fitness center for my workouts.

    1. It was so nice to be able to walk around the Boardwalk and Yacht and Beach club after the day's work. The first night had very nice weather and a breeze.

    1. I was ready to come home, but it was nice being at the Dolphin. I knew I was going into EPCOT, but the snow day at work means it is a vacation day.

  7. Yes, that FL humidity can be a killer, even in the Winter. So jealous - I love EPCOT.

    1. I just didn't have time to adjust to it. I went from ice and snow in Dallas straight to Florida humidity. Two weeks before that I heard it was freezing for the Disney Frozen 5k.

  8. I hate daylight savings. I love the longer days but my kids are miserable for like a week!

    1. I can commiserate with your kids. The older I get, the more I hate my sleep pattern being messed with. I'll be fine by the weekend, but for now, it's a struggle.

  10. WDW for work? Say what!? I love it! :) I haven't heard of Outlander but might have to look into it! Daylight Savings...ugh...I love love love having more daylight in the evenings but would rather not loose an hour of sleep, it throws me off for at least a week!

    1. I hadn't heard of it either until this past summer when there was a lot of talk about the show. I picked up the first book and got sucked in.

  11. Daylight Savings is killing me this year! I don't know what it is--I can't remember having this much trouble in years past. This time, though, I can't fall asleep until 1:00 a.m. and then I struggle to wake up at 7:30 a.m. Yikes.

    1. I was OK until 2012 with the fall back. I could rebound quickly and adjust, no problems whatsoever. Not so much anymore, and it'll take me about a week. Why can't it happen on a Saturday so we have a whole weekend?
