Songs for Cabin Fever

I keep thinking of my friends up in the northeast.  I fled Boston in part to get away from the snow.  It ices in Dallas though, and when things don't melt, we get more "snow days".  I get cabin fever pretty easily, and knowing I can't go outside is B-A-D.

My tried and true way to deal with cabin fever is to pour a huge glass of wine (or your drink of choice) and listen to tropical music.  These are the my favorite (all from Jimmy Buffett)

1) One Particular Harbor

2) Boat Drinks

3) Margaritaville

4) King of Somewhere Hot

5) I Will Play for Gumbo

So when you're outside running, looking like this:

think of the tropics :-)

  1. I absolutely love Jimmy Buffet and wine too for that matter. Sure does get you thinking happy thoughts about warm weather and lying on a beach somewhere!

    1. Escapism. If I can't go outside, it's nice to imagine sunshine and ocean.

    1. Very much needed too. Our forecast currently has freezing rain for Sunday night but that could change.

  4. Great post idea, Lesley! I went to a Jimmy Buffett concert once. I arrived as a non-fan and left as a fan. It was a really fun experience.

    1. It's a great concert experience. I haven't been to any other kind of concert since before Jimmy. Only his concerts now.

    1. I discovered his music in the middle of fall finals one year. Best way to keep from spazzing out.

    1. Hopefully. Forecast could change but they're predicting ice on Sunday night. Sounds perfect for a crockpot dinner.

  10. I'm a big Jimmy Buffet fan. Margaritaville sponsors one of the half marathons I do on the FL coast. He makes the best margarita too...just sayin'.

    1. Wine makes a lot of things better. I get cooped up and need a way to deal with it.

  13. I love Jimmy Buffett too and with the ice we are supposed to get in Dallas this week we might be listening to him sooner rather than later.

My favorite Buffett song is He Went to Paris. "Some of it was magic, some of it was tragic, but I had a good life along the way."

I think that is all any of us can hope for.

    1. We'll see if I need his songs today. The first day is always nice, a break from work and I got to sleep in.
